Our 02 Girls Red team have just won the U17 Presidents Cup National Championship in TN, they beat Las Vegas Soccer Club (LVSC) 2-0 in the final.  LVSC play in the National League in which they play teams from all over the country let alone within their own state.

Under any circumstances this would be a fantastic achievement for any team but this was even more amazing as the team only had 13 players attend the event playing in 95 degree TN weather not to mention the humidity the girls had to endure. The team played 4 games in 4 days so it goes to show that they are not just a talented soccer team but their desire and commitment to succeed too.

Another point to note is that this is a young team in terms of the opposition they come up against as none of them are Juniors who can play at this U17 level. This team plays up in age and our 13 players are made up of one 8th grader, three Freshmen and nine Sophomores

The 13 players on show were:

7 - Kendall McLeod

10 - Megan Nelson

6 - Nora Rosenbaum

4 - Abbey Slivka

11 - Kaylin Smith

8 - Alex Tetteh

15 - Alaina Wildenradt

00 - Nina Bradshaw

33 - Natalie Drover

20 - Morgan Furmaniak

18 - Jessie Gruben

3 - Emma Gruber

71 - Kaitlyn Hudetz

As well as winning the national championship there were some individual awards too:

Abbey Slivka won the Golden Glove award for best GK

Nina Bradshaw won the Golden Boot award for top goal scorer

Nina, Alaina Wildenradt and Emma Gruber were voted into the best 11 of the tournament too. How Abbey did not receive recognition is mind boggling?

A special thank you too to the parents! We as a club realize the sacrifices that you all make for your children and this does not go unnoticed. This special moment in their young soccer careers would not happen without your support and dedication to your daughters throughout the years, and for that we thank you!

Congrats girls on a job well done, enjoy the break and Summer, the club are extremely proud of you all!!!
